that it doesn’t take much to make a difference. A quick introduction, a handshake, a hug, a smile. That’s all it takes to start something great. In that moment, you never really know what an impact you could be making on someone else’s life. At the same time, that very same person could also be changing your life forever.

It’s been a week since the UNAVSA-9 Conference in Minneapolis started and three days since I’ve been home. I always like to take the time to absorb all my emotions and reflect on my experiences before I share them with others.

I’m still somewhat at a loss of words when it comes to describing my time at conference this year. I guess simply put, it just was amazing. They always say that it takes a certain type of individual to come out to a national conference like this, and I couldn’t agree more. Just about every person I meet in UNAVSA is incredibly dedicated and passionate about their work with the community. Each has his or her own unique story, one that is just beginning and will continue to develop from here on out. I feel so fortunate every time I am given the opportunity to meet and connect with someone that shares my love for empowering our growing community of young leaders.

Thank you UNAVSA, for all you’ve given me these past three years. Thank you to every one I met or reunited with, you all inspire me to be a better leader and a better person. Here’s to a bright and hopeful future for us all. See you in sunny Socal for UNAVSA-10 :)
